Oxford is a 75-minute run south-east via the M42 / M40 and A34. We cover OX1 through OX4 across the city and out to the surrounding Oxfordshire towns.
Local context
Oxford sits at the south-eastern edge of our service area, just over an hour from our Beoley, Redditch workshop. Quickest route is the M42 onto the M40 at J3A, off at J9 and down the A34 into the city, normally a 75-minute door-to-door run. We service OX1 (city centre and Carfax), OX2 (Jericho, Summertown, Botley), OX3 (Headington, Marston, Risinghurst) and OX4 (Cowley, Iffley, Blackbird Leys), plus the wider OX postcodes out toward Kidlington, Wheatley and the surrounding villages.
Oxford's housing stock is unusually layered for a city its size. The historic core inside the ring road, Jericho's Victorian brick terraces, North Oxford's Edwardian mansions on the Banbury and Woodstock Roads, and the small-college / townhouse properties around Holywell and Iffley, often needs sympathetic panel placement, in-roof flush systems, and conservation-area consent. We pre-flag any planning or listed-building requirements at survey stage and route the install via the rear pitches wherever the front elevation is visible from a Listed setting.
Outside the historic core, Oxford is straightforward solar territory. The interwar semis and 1950s estates across Headington, Marston, Old Marston and Risinghurst have textbook south- and west-facing pitches and take a 4 to 6 kWp solar array cleanly with no roof reinforcement. The modern Cowley, Blackbird Leys, Greater Leys and Littlemore estates are similar, large clean roof pitches, plenty of room for solar plus battery storage. Tesla Powerwall 3, EcoFlow and Fox ESS battery installs are popular across these estates, frequently paired with an OZEV-grant Zappi or Wallbox EV charger.
Commercial Oxford is a strong line of work. The university colleges and academic estate run constant flat-roof refurbishment programmes with serious commercial-PV potential, and we've quoted local schools, retirement homes and SMEs across OX1, OX2, OX4 and the Cowley industrial corridor. The Cowley business park, the Oxford Science Park and the Headington Hospital estate cluster all sit within easy access of our service team, and we handle the full G99 DNO application and ESG / net-zero reporting in-house for any commercial install.
EV charger demand in Oxford is consistently high, driven by the Cowley BMW Mini commuter cluster, the Oxford zero-emission zone in the city centre, and broad EV adoption across the academic estate. We install several home chargers per month across OX-postcodes, frequently as part of a wider solar plus battery plus EV package, with the EV charger drawing from solar export during the working day.
